Chelsea have really tried this season having in mind that the club were not able to sign any player at the beginning of the season by finishing at 4th position behind Manchester United and securing an FA cup final match against Arsenal next Saturday.
Chelsea who were released from transfer ban have capitalized on it by bringing in new players like Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner with a deal for Kai Havertz to be completed soon.
Chelsea were the worst among the top 10 teams in England at the defence this season having conceded so many goals. In a bid to correct that, the club are ready to hijack Man City’s deal for Nathan Ake.
Chelsea have the option to match Manchester City’s £41m bid for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.
This was a buyout clause included in the 25-year old’s contract when he joined the Cherries from Stamford bridge means an offer would have to be accepted.
Ake could be an option for Lampard if he intends to strengthen at centre-back, although as things stand he appears to be on the verge of a move to City.
The Dutchman might also take some convincing if he is to return to his former club instead of joining up with Pep Guardiola in Manchester.
