Chelsea have shipped in a huge amount of goals this season and Kepa Arrizabalaga has failed to fully justify his huge price tag at Chelsea. The goalkeeper has failed to show quality in between the sticks for the Blues and he is arguably at fault for several goals conceded by the Blues.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is now keen to bring in Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope to Stamford Bridge this summer as the impressive performances of the Burnley shot-stopper has attracted the interest of the Blues coach and transfer chiefs. 28-year old Nick Pope is regarded as one of the best goalies in the league due to his impressive performances for Burnley in recent years.
Nick Pope kept a massive 15 clean sheets in the premier league this season which was only bettered by Manchester City’s Enderson. Also, Nick Pope has a save percentage of 70% which is one of the best in the premier league this season.
Frank Lampard and Petr Cech has identified Nick Pope as one of the suitable targets to improve the team and Chelsea are set to go all out to sign the England international goalkeeper. Also, Chelsea are set to offload Kepa Arrizabalaga who has attracted the interest of Valencia.
However, Chelsea will have to offer a fee in the region of £53million to complete the signing of Nick Pope who is a big upgrade on Kepa Arrizabalaga. The arrival of Nick Pope will bring in massive goalkeeping quality to Chelsea and it will be a huge step in solving the Blues’ defensive issues.
Although, Chelsea hav also been linked with the likes of Jan Oblak and Andre Onana but Nick Pope seems to be the Chelsea’s main target as he has the required premier league experience to flourish at the London club. The arrival of Nick Pope will make Frank Lampard and all fans happy as they have been keen for an upgrade on Kepa.
